world health day2016The Department of Health Regional Office XII joined the national simultaneous celebration of the World Health Day last April 7, 2016 at S.B Montañer Hall, DOH RO XII, Cotabato City. With the theme, “Beat Diabetes; Scale up prevention, strengthen cure, and enhance surveillance”, this year’s celebration for World Health Day focuses on the management and prevention of diabetes.

Headed by the Health Education and Promotion Office of the Department of Health Regional Office XII, Cotabato City, the office conducted a lecturette to the employees of the DOH RO XII and discussed the five (5) ways to beat diabetes which are the following:

  • Improving diet;
  • Losing weight;
  • Exercising regularly;
  • Controlling sleep apnea; and
  • Soothing stress.

They explained that maintaining a healthy body does not necessarily mean prohibiting yourself to eat but the discipline to choose and control what you eat. Also, basic physical exercise for our body contributes to having a healthy body and the prevention of diabetes.

Lastly, to ensure that employees of DOH RO XII to be diabetes-free, the HEPO launches the new Hataw Video and performed it in the Montañer Hall together with the attendees of the program.
