The DOH-Center for Health Development SOCCSKSARGEN Region conducted the Vetting and Validation of 2021 LGU Investment Needs of four (4) provinces and two (2) cities last February 4-5, 2020 attended by Cluster Heads and Program Managers at SB Montañer Hall, DOH-CHD SOCCSKSARGEN Region Cotabato City. The objective of the said activity is to align plans of Provinces, Municipalities and Cities with the current national directions and priorities, and vice versa; consolidated technical assistance from the DOH will be matched with the needs outlined in the Local Investment Plans for Health (LIPH). This LGU Investment Needs is a tool for the consideration/incorporation in DOH Budget Proposal of CHDs and National Program Managers.
DOH Central Office provided the DOH Menu of Assistance for LGUs that will be used as planning guide in local health planning workshops for the development of LGU 2021 Annual Operational Plans, plan vetting and appraisal activities. This covers assistance such as Health Facilities and Enhancement Program (HFEP); HRH Deployment and other HRH Programs; centrally-procured commodities and other technical assistance that will be charged to the funds from DOH Central Office.
The Menu contains:
1. Assistance that are available for LGUs and for inclusion in their 2021 AOPs
2. Activities where participants are from LGUs
3. Basis/Rationale for Target Population/Formula/Criteria/Assumptions used for allocation
4. Source of funding; Cost details
5. List of LGUs which have been selected/identified for TA
6. Specific LGU participants; Cost per participant
Based on the result of the vetting and validation, the LGUs will now know what technical assisstance will be provided by CHD and what trainings, equipments and commodities will be charged to the LGU.
