cancerPresident Rodrigo Duterte has signed Republic Act No. 11215 now also known as “National Integrated Cancer Control Act” on February 14, 2019. This shall serve as the framework for all cancer-related activities of the government, to decrease the overall mortality and impact of all adult and children cancer, lessen incidence of preventable cancer in adults and children, and prevent cancer recurrence, metastasis, and secondary cancer among survivors and people living with cancer. The new law compliments the Universal Healthcare coverage Act.        

drug abuseThe Provincial Anti-Drug Abuse Council of South Cotabato takes the lead in the implementation of the programs and projects against illegal drugs with a strong conviction that there is hope to win the war against this long-overdue societal problem.

This war on drugs cannot be waged alone, instead with concerted efforts of the agencies concerned joined hands in the fight against this drug menace. This year the council spearheaded many activities through the initiatives of its core members. Mentoring and coaching of LGUs – through their Municipal Anti-Drug Abuse Councils (MADAC) in the implementation of their Anti-Drug Abuse Programs especially in the implementation of their Community Based-Rehabilitation Program (CBRP) through the Integrated Provincial Health Office.

This is a strategy to curb the spread of measles through the administration of free vaccination among infants and children 6-59 months

The launching was held at Family Country Hotel, General Santos City. It was attended by more than 300 participants both health partners and stakeholders. No less than Health Secretary Francisco T. Duque III,MD,MSc and his party, were present in this momentous activity.
