The Department of Health - Center for Health Development SOCCSKSARGEN region offered an Aftercare Program (AcP) for Persons Who Use Drugs (PWUDs) who were referred to by the authorized agencies. Under the Dangerous Drug Abuse Treatment and Rehabilitation program, the clients receive the appropriate services provided for their early recovery and reintegration into the community.

The Aftercare Program is a service that helps to recover drug dependents to adapt to everyday community life, after completing earlier phases of treatment and rehabilitation. It provides an opportunity to address important issues and problems associated with abstinence and recovery. Aftercare provides a safe environment for continued support until it is no longer needed.

At present, nine (9) PWUDs temporarily completed their in-patient rehabilitation and were referred to Drug Abuse Treatment Rehabilitation Center (DATRC) for six (6) months and eighteen (18) months, respectively. Furthermore, three (3) out of the nine (9) clients already finished the duration required by the court for their Aftercare Program and were recommended for “graduation”. They completed the interventions and no longer be subjected to law enforcement operations or activities after validation and legal process.
