The DOH - Center for Health Development SOCCSKSARGEN region supports the 2023 National Women's Month Celebration as it marks a juncture in the advancement of women's rights and launches a new recurring theme from this year to 2028, as follows: "We for Gender Equality and Inclusive Society" #WeCanBeEqual.
In support of the aforementioned celebration, the DOH-CHD SOCCSKSARGEN region issued a memorandum order mandating its staff to wear purple every Wednesday and use the color purple as the background of their individual social media accounts, along with the hashtag #WeCanBeEqual.
The DOH-CHD SOCCSKSARGEN unites with diverse women around the world.

On February 28, 2023, the DOH-CHD SOCCSKSARGEN Region conducted the "National Cancer Awareness Month Celebration" at the Barangay Poblacion Covered Court, Tulunan, Cotabato Province through the Non - Communicable Disease Cluster led by Dr. Zaide M. Anas, RPh,MD, Medical Officer III, Cancer Control and Prevention Regional Program Coordinator together with Ms. Jean V. Baldonado, RN, HPO I. The event was in collaboration with RHU Tulunan, led by Ms. Cathy Jane P. Benigay, RN, Municipal Cancer Control and Prevention Program Coordinator and the RHU staffs and Barangay Health workers.
The participants were composed of pregnant women and Barangay Health Workers from the different barangays of the municipality. Prior to the lecture proper, Dr. Anas reminded the participants of the importance of cancer prevention. The highlights of the program were (1) a discussion by Ms. Kristine Joy Linang, RN on Cervical Cancer; and (2) a lecture by Ms. Gretchen B. Rivera, RN on Breast Cancer. The signs and symptoms, preventive measures, and warning signals were covered during the lecture. RHU Tulunan also took this opportunity to discuss the benefits of New Born Screening and Blood Donation by Ms. Isoebelle Batislaon-Ocon, RMT.
Also in attendance was Kagawad Fernando BaƱes, who gave the welcome remarks, while Ms. Benigay delivered her closing message. In addition, the IPHO Cotabato Province was represented by Mr. Jerode V. Tatad,HPO I.
This activity aims to (1) prevent and control cancer through early detection; (2) educate the participants about signs and symptoms, warning signals, and preventive measures; (3) increase public awareness by discussing national policies on cancer; and (4) discuss the importance of advocating cancer prevention and control.
